Congratulations to the Les Bleus team on winning the Coupe du Monde on July 15, 2018
The French team known as Les Bleus won the Coupe du Monde against Croatia on June 15,2018 in Russia with a score of 4-2.
My friend Rachelle invited me to see the game with some friends from the church Eglise St. Lazare in Paris. They reserved a room in a restaurant where we watched the game on a large screen TV. It was exciting to see both teams rival each other.
The match was well played and we cheered for the French team Les Bleus. We saw the presentation of the medals an saw Putin and Macron with the President of Croatia present the awards during the rain.
Seeing people decorated in red, white and blue was fantastic. It was uplifting to celebrate this victory.
The enthusiasm of the crowds walking and driving down the streets for the happy event provided a change from constantly hearing about the tragedies of war.

After the first French score on that bogus free kick I thought the Refs may have been a little hung over from celebrating Bastille Day. However, trying to fool the Refs to gain advantages is part of the game. The French did a great job in counter-attacking the aggressive play of the Croats. The Croats put everything they had on the field of play and won the hearts of the world. It truly is a beautiful game. Congratulations to France.
One enormous boost for France and its badly eroded national persona. Credit to Russia for the manner the tournament panned out right down to the final when the four goals conceded by a classy Croatia gave way to French joie de vivre. Luka Modric fully deserved player of the tournament “Golden Ball” award to give Croatia a signal and well-deserved measure of the spoils. All in all a captivating four weeks of soccer.
