Jesus’s Quote, When Misapplied, Leads to the Root of All Evil ?

(4,360 views before 2019 VT website reset)

Each of us is co-creating the matrix of our personal and collective reality.   Will we choose to co-create from a state of fear or more from love?  The choice is ours.

Yes, ultimately I’ve concluded that every horrific thing on our planet to date has occurred because people/humanity are literally doing what Jesus said in his quote “Love thy neighbor, as thyself.”

Yes, on the surface this appears this like an insanely bold statement to make until you consider it from the literal reality that: We are loving our neighbors exactly how we love ourselves…and that is ‘we love ourselves horribly’.

You see, one person cannot give to another what he or she does not first have for themselves.  If I have not first found inner peace, love, kindness, compassion, and care for myself then the only thing I am capable of projecting and acting on, in regards to other people, animals, and mother earth, is the opposite of this.  The truth be told, if I have anything less than a state of loving reverence for myself then I will only project and act on my inner state of suffering as expressed through agitation/impatience, self-hatred, cruelty, intolerance, and indifference.

In other words, peace from emotional disorders and physical disease, peace between cultures and on our planet are inextricably linked to our ability to first find love and peace within ourselves.  Therefore, until each of us truly finds the kingdom of heaven that is within, that which is defined by expressing the loving, peace, compassion and innocence of a child, then we will continue to project our crazy self-hatred on to other people, animals, and mother earth…defining them as “the Others” and then psychopathically harming, murdering and destroying them instead of lovingly embracing them as “all are one” as an extension of God’s Divine gift to us.

You see, the Jesus figure said: “Even the least among you can do what I have done and greater things” ~ John 14:12.   How else can one rationally interpret this quote other than:  “I did it (enlightenment), you can do it and even go further than I.”

Later the Jesus infers this is achieved is possible if you first find: “The kingdom of heaven is within you.” (Luke 17:21).  He later he later states this is attainable by: “Verily I say unto you, except ye be converted, and become as little children (attain a metaphorical state of spiritual innocence), ye shall not enter the kingdom of heaven.”(Matthew 18:3).

Then, and only through this state of aligned innocence (or what the Buddhist call “egoless” or what Christians might term a state of “surrender” or “atonement”) with God’s Will, can we be awakened and integrate the state of being as referred to in Psalms 46:10: “Be still, and know that I AM God”.

Only from this cognized state of awareness can we know  “And God said (spoke the “Word” which means “the primary creative harmony”) let there be light.”(Genesis 1:3).  From this state of consciousness we will know as it says in John 1:14 “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth.” Hence, we can understand and witness what Einstein said in his famous equation E=MC2 that “Energy and Mass are different forms of the same thing.”

“If you want to awaken all of humanity, then awaken all of yourself, if you want to eliminate the suffering of the world, then eliminate all that is dark and negative in yourself. Truly, the greatest gift you have to give is that of your own self-transformation.” – Lao Tzu (4th Century BC)

“The solution to the problem of the day is the awakening of the consciousness of humanity to the divinity within.” – Hazrat Inayat Khan, 14th century.

We are very slow learners. We are continuing to destroy Mother Nature. We are involved in wars all over the globe. Each religious group believes it is the one and only one to teach the truth, and these groups persecute, kill and discriminate against all others. In the so-called civilized world, children are physically, sexually and/or emotionally abused; they are the leaders of our future…

…When children are raised in such a hostile and violent environment, how can we hope for a harmonious future for all the people of this world? We are supposed to be the peacekeepers on this planet, but look what we are doing on a daily basis!

…In this light, the purpose of human life is to achieve our own spiritual evolution, to get rid of negativity, to establish harmony among our physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual quadrants, to learn to live in harmony within the family, community, nation, the whole world and all living things, treating all of mankind as brothers and sisters-thus making it finally possible to have peace on earth.” – Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, M.D. (1926-2004) Swiss American psychiatrist, who pioneered near-death studies.

In our ultimate state of self-realization, we can truly know the wisdom of the Buddhist poet Thich Nhat Hanh who states, “The healing of ourselves is the healing of the whole nation.” In this awareness of authentically empowered self-love, we can truly love our neighbors, all living creatures and our planet as expressed from this wisdom of the Course in Miracles teachings, “The Salvation of the world depends on you.”(Lesson 186)

“And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” – Luke 11:9

Keep in mind that its a short distance to your own heart and yet it can be a very long journey to get there.   Shorten your journey back home to your soul-self through learning to still your mind through meditation.  In this still-state ask with all of your heart and soul to be shown the grand gift and purpose of your life here on earth as a Divine expression to bring loving peace to our world.   Rest assured you will be shown.  Your job, thereafter, is to act courageously on this insight.

Lastly, if you have any doubt about the reality you create nanosecond after nanosecond then take a moment to look around you and note:  EVERYTHING with the exception of other people, animals or plants… all that you’re presently seeing was at one time only a thought in someone’s imagination.   Each of us is indeed co-creating and projecting our soul thoughts onto the matrix of our earth school reality.

The big question remains, will we choose to co-create from a state of fear or more from the awareness of love?

When each of us chooses to awaken and create from the love we can and will surely realize peace on earth.  I pray that this is so. Amen.

  1. The moral precepts of Jesus are sometimes interesting, sometimes poetic, sometimes benevolent, sometimes confusing, sometimes pernicious, and sometimes devastatingly harmful psychologically. To be moral, according to Jesus, man must shackle his reason. He must force himself to believe that which he cannot understand. He must suppress, in the name of morality, any doubts that surface in his mind. Less criticism leads to more faith – and faith, Jesus declares, is the hallmark of virtue.

The psychological impact of this doctrine is devastating. To divorce morality from truth is to turn man’s reason against himself. Reason, as the faculty by which man comprehends reality and exercises control over his environment, is the basic requirement of self-esteem. Reason becomes a vice, something to be feared, and man finds that his worst enemy is his own capacity to think and question.

One can scarcely imagine a more effective way to introduce perpetual conflict into man’s consciousness and thereby produce the host of neurotic symptoms that men call religion.

Thank you for this brilliant synthesis of the conundrum between rational, moral thought and visionary wisdom and that of the distorted perception of the ego-mind which serves to pervert and cast doubt on the truth of love and sane thought so as to ultimately yield a rationalized delusion.

    • Another mish mash of Religion to in effect, write against it, without understanding that some things may even lie beyond your own comprehension:

“He that will believe only what he can fully comprehend must have a long head or a very short creed. ”

Read the quotes of Chardin, and then his work, along with the German moral philosopher Immanuel Kant—the real and authentic thinkers who will essentially cream all you have to say about the denigration of Religion itself – as they pull together reason, morality, conscience and thought as one integrated Whole. Reason and morality are taken to a higher plane—which we find in Plato’s “Forms” – a complete Wholeness of thought through the “Good, True, Beautiful and Right” that brooks no contradictions. It’s pretty simple guys. Plus the only conflict to be seen in regard to the reader’s comment below is the contortionist writings that you find in the denigration of God and Religion articles / comments.

If you really want to get into some real meat of what Religion is NOT—then the dare is that you write about the Talmud—the antithesis of Religion and the most under-reported and at the same time, most important book to scrutinize if you want to understand the nature and ideology of those that rule us. You also might especially enjoy the part where it says that “Jesus is boiling in excrement”—which goes along quite well with the title of the article. (Read it with a few beers if you want to get your jollies off—then again, it actually maybe your bible (!))

  2. Khalid, your most welcome and thank you for reading it. Yes, it seemed some intended to intentionally misread it, some over reacted to it and others may have found that the article stretched them beyond a certain reasoning capacity. It is my honor and spiritual truth to be both kind, patience and loving. Thank you for your gracious, wise, insightful and most gracious words of encouragement.

  3. The confusion caused by constant contradiction in the Bible leads inexorably to dispersion by way of personalized interpretation. Hitler was a Catholic. Jesus as an example makes it clear the sayings did not come from a person, but a multiplicity of viewpoints from a single archetype and the archetype is Horus. Lennon was also this, and his death also typifies the response from established culture. In the case of Job and Joseph, they narrowly escape death, but do experience total loss of family and material, only to build it back up. Jesus, and the Bible are dangerous to teach as if he were one person, and will continue to cause dispersion. The sorting out and interpretation will always have divergent paths, because the teaching is specifically regarding one archetype.

    • Mathew 10 … Sounds like Bush 43
34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
36 And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.
37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.
38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.

    • Of the 36 decans, there are four which are out of sequence. In Egypt, they are called the four sons of Horus, but that is not correct. In the Maya they are depicted inside the other 32. All cultures have these out of sequence and observed separately. in the ancient caste system of the Hindu, they were not part of stable society, but are highly valued during times of instability. Horus specifically or Falcon in the Hindu system, is the most confounding and often the topic of discussion as to why such turmoil seems to be embedded in their destiny. Job and his 3 friends, same. Mathew Mark Luke and John, same (kind of). Joseph thrown into the well and sold for the same silver as Jesus. Lennon had 3 bandmates. Paul John Ringo and George. Same. Horus is Oct 2 – 12 approx, (solar year) but the study of this is not complete without knowing the 20 days, which are separate and is a specific and discernible cycle unto itself. In that cycle, Jesus symbolizes 5 Kame, specifically. Quote from 6,000 year old knowledge from Africa regarding Kame, “If incarnating for a specific mission, they will go straight to death when the mission is done.” Kame is the ruler of physical death or transformation. If each person studied their own archetype, they would benefit much more than studying someone elses.

    • Khalid, if you examine the evidence and resources I provide, and compare it to what you offer in return, It looks like you are the one driven by emotion and belief, while refusing to examine the comparative mythology and theology. The story of Joseph is riddled with a myriad of material found in many sources in a comparative study. To believe he was a real person is to ignore or refuse to examine it. As for my own ego and relation to spirit, you make many incorrect assumptions based on emotion. It is the most common reaction from those who cling to belief in spite of evidence. One thing I find with religious belief is refusal to examine , and a strong emotional drive to remain societally acceptable no matter the cost. We are not born with that, it is slowly installed. Homey don’t play that.

  4. God nor Christ are the authors of confusion or evil. That job is satans. Each one of us has the free will to follow the good (God’s) voice in our head or follow the evil voice in our head (the devil). Who you are the child of depends on who you follow. We are born free yet into a system of slavery. The blessings and the curses are upon us and so is the approaching 7th trumpet. The key to unlock and understand why we are here is available to read online for free and the title is self explanatory.

    • Rampant speculation and salesmanship mixed with cunning use of profundity is the delivery system of desperate people. To mix in fear of the unknown and fabricated predetermined outcomes, smothered in judgement, is a crime for which the Catholic Church and others should be tried. In the hands of the uninitiated, it can become as dangerous as Trump with nukes. Perhaps even more so. Something few people know, is many priests quit the seminary after finding out the entire thing is made up. They teach it because it is necessary to know how to avoid letting that fact, destroy the church itself. Thus they build a wall the same way a skilled spy would. If pious fraud was harmless, why would anyone care ?

  5. IMO, this article is right on point. Steve Robertson, you are a great addition to VT and I truly appreciate your work.

“Shorten your journey back home to your soul-self through learning to still your mind through meditation”. I’ve been practicing meditation on a daily basis for quite a few years. Last year, during an EEG scan I entered a meditative state and for a short period of time, I flatlined my brainwaves. I kept the charts. All I could think of when I saw it those charts was, “Be still and know that I Am.”

    • Thank you Amelius for kindly reading the article and for your most gracious compliment. So glad to hear of your daily practice of meditation. This inner peace empowers clearer introspection.
