Tribute to late William Blum: “I was next to David Ray Griffin on Osama Bin Laden’s bookshelf?!”

Vintage May 2015 Truth Jihad Radio interview!

I just learned that William Blum, author of Killing Hope, and other blistering critiques of US empire, has passed away. According to someone close to him: “He had failed kidneys and a stroke.  His son Alex is attending to affaires. I am told the IPS will hold his archives and book collection.  His own books are still available.  He wrote 5 books and published the Anti-Empire Report to 1,000 subscribers.”

William Blum was one of the many Jewish people (ethnic not religious in his case…and he wasn’t even very ethnic, being a universalist) who could be considered representatives of the prophetic “speak truth to power” tradition: the diametric opposite of the tribal psychopaths I discussed in my recent article “Anti-Semitism Is Double-Plus Ungood, Holocaust Denial Is Crimethink.” May Allah bless him with a high station in Paradise.

Below is my last interview with him, first broadcast in May 2015. I also did a notable interview  with Blum (along with another speak-truth-to-power Jew, Phillip Weiss) back in 2009—listen HERE.

Here is my description of the 2015 interview:

First half hour: William Blum, “the thinking man’s Chomsky,” expert on the crimes of Empire, has many admirers – including, we are told, Osama Bin Laden. Back in 2006 Bin Laden (allegedly) told Americans, in an audiotape authenticated by the CIA but doubted by some, that they  needed to read Blum’s books. Now we are told that Osama’s bookshelf included two books by Blum, along with other excellent books including David Ray Griffin’s The New Pearl Harbor.

What’s it like to learn that you were favorite reading material of the world’s biggest bogieman? And how come Osama never bothered to read Truth Jihad and Questioning the War on Terror? As the Syrian soldier said to the ISIS cannibal, “what am I, chopped liver?”

Second half hour: Gordon Duff joins us to to discuss his new article The Delta “Deception” Raid on Syria. In that article, Gordon describes “an American raid destroying evidence of CIA involvement with ISIS and killing witnesses.” The raid allegedly captured a retired US general who was commanding ISIS forces. Gordon’s sources say that certain freemasonic Zionists (Christian as well as Jewish) are obsessed with destroying historical and archeological sites including the al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem and a “second temple of Solomon” in Palmyra. It’s a heck of a story, and the scary thing is, it just might be true!

Gordon also discusses the alleged neutron bombing of Yemen by Israeli planes painted in Saudi colors, as well as the ongoing brouhaha concerning Jim Fetzer and Jade Helm.

Osama Bin Laden, Back in 2006, had been dead for five years. What am I missing here?
