Since the days of late President Nixon, American “Democracy” fell into “tribalism” with two warring factions Republicans and Democrats waging wars against each other and the “Republic” and against the citizens who are victims of this ugly tribalism’s.
As a Muslims, who witness the ugly face of “tribalism” in the form of sectarians divide (Sunni v Shiite) which the Holy Quran was unable to eradicate and erase the nasty face of tribalism of ancient Mecca. We are witnessing the same in the US.
Unfortunately, the US Constitution, as excellent as it is as an instrument of governance and guiding principles of the political process, has failed to cure the ugly face of political tribalism in the US, Republicans v Democrats.
This ugly face of American Tribalism is ongoing in the US Senate has moved from the House of Representatives where the Senate Court is taking place presided by the Chief Justice of the US and the impeachment of Donald Trump.
The Democrats lacking any impeachable evidence out of Mueller investigation came into a windfall by the actions of the President as he tried to leverage international aids to Ukraine to gain the favor of political favor, investigating Biden & Son business dealings in Ukraine.
Of course one has to wonder what are the qualifications of Biden’s son to secure a $50,000/month contract in the energy sector other than an introduction and political leverage from his father.
However, business dealing with high ranking officials of the government and members of both the senate and house is legendary and pale to the corruption of other countries. While in other countries, corruption is limited to the few in America, corruption is widespread to all levels of governments.
One has to wonder how a Senator who earns less than $200K a year can accumulate tens of millions of dollars in a few years. A case in point Senator Mitch McConnell (R-K) net worth increased by $2.4 million every year for more than a decade.
The corruption within our government institutions is shameful disgraceful and raises the question of whether our form of governing institutions is what the founding fathers are having in mind.
There is an “ideological, even theological” divide over everything and any things. From voter’s registrations to “gerrymandering” to gun control, abortion, funding education and health care, Social Security, and Medicare, among others, are part of this theological divide. Each of the tribe tries to outdo each other in partisan conflicts and fight that the interests of the American taxpayers and citizens became lost. Hardly any legislation for the good of the public is passing without big tribal fights.
I have no idea as to how the US Constitution can deal with this issue, but it seems that the absence of term limits and lack of “citizens” congress we are stuck with the tribal system not only in politics but in media as well.
Can we start all over without Democrats and Republicans? I am sick of both

In my view, overall nasty began in early 2000s when FOX NEWS turned into GOP State TV promoting that brand with propaganda. Then the counter-weight of MSNBC was offered cementing the divide. Add the net and social media echo chambers for the public and we have a full-fledged cold civil war 2.0. I think Congress reflects this reality. Where do we go from here? NOT SURE!
