Quarantine during Covid-19 is really making people get more in touch with themselves. People are making fun crafts, creating music, baking, and finding new hobbies. If you’ve only been watching T.V. in your pajamas so far, don’t sweat it!

Before going back to regular daily life, you might want to consider doing something new just so you can say that you actually did something during this much-needed break from life. Here are a few ideas of things to take on before going back to school or work.

Forty Thieves

There are so many computer games out there. If you just type into your search engine “computer games” you will find an overwhelming amount of results. One game I started playing is forty thieves. Forty thieves is a solitaire game you can play online. It is very challenging and requires a lot of practice to acquire the skill.

It gets its name from the 40 cards that dealt with the layout at the beginning of the game. So why the name? Each card is trying to stop you from winning. Each card is a “thief” making a total of 40 thieves.

How to Play

Two decks are used in the game. The goal of the game is to move all the cards from each suit to the relevant foundation piles from Aces through Kings. The deal is 10 columns of 4 cards each. The remaining cards stay in the stockpile. You can pick up one card from the stockpile at a time. Either you can use it in one of the columns or you can move it to the discard pile. Only the first card in the discard pile may be used in the columns. Forty Thieves is a fun and challenging and really works your brain.

If you like to use your brain and hands try this fun new skill!

Make sourdough bread

Now that people have more time, there are many people on social media posting about their sourdough bread. So what exactly is sourdough? Before manufacturing yeast, people used to make bread with naturally fermented yeast made out of flour and water. That yeast was used in almost all bread and today we call that bread “sourdough.”

It has a unique taste and texture. It has become a fad now to make the perfect sourdough loaf. Imagine going back to work and showing your friends a picture of an amazing sourdough loaf that you baked from scratch. It’s definitely an accomplishment. Yum!

Create new healthy habits

Establishing healthy habits should always be a priority, but life can get too crazy and it’s just thrown on the back burner. Now that you’re in quarantine, you have time! So make a list of healthy habits that you’d like to adopt. Some examples of healthy habits are eating right, exercising, home organizing, cleaning, or getting rid of things. Put your list of habits into your schedule and make them a priority now.  If you work on making those things a value now, then it can enable you to incorporate them into your busy schedule once things go back to normal.

These are just a few ideas that you can be proud to show off when you get back to everyday life. Find that thing that you connect to and get started!
