No one defense system can work against such massive shelling. It is impossible.
That was quite a salvo…attempting to overwhelm the defenses. The rockets are not big enought to inflict much damage, so Gaza always takes more casualties. That said, it does not seem to start the fights, Israel does, and can pay for it from its US defense budget.
True, but how long can incidents like this occur without seriously depleting Israeli defenses? What condition will they be in to defend if another state should attack them? Then of course there is the actual effectiveness of the tech. I can hear Bibi now…we contained the threat and are planning even more attacks…One just has to wonder how the Israeli public is taking this? Are they ready for the reactions that will surely follow? Propaganda can only go so far. Your house/business/neighbors afire speaks pretty loud…then there is that Dimona issue….
I can only wish that those ‘walk with the lord’ ministry idiots are now walking with him. Funny how they call themselves Christian, but do anything BUT follow the example of Christ. Hopefully, the Palestinians have far more rockets than this…as the Israeli public has not experienced real death and destruction yet, as they continue to spread the same. The site of a massive launch was a welcome site. Several more of these should really send shock waves through the Israelis. As Israel is not fond of releasing embarrassing videos of Israel afire, one can only speculate as to the effectiveness of their AD. But the fires sure didn’t do the Israeli public much good in regard their defenses. Big BOO-HOO. NOT.
Seeing the videos of Iron dome rockets exploding shortly after firing, and all at the same area, lead to the conclusion, that the Iron Dome rockets are not tracking incoming objects, but mainly act like AD amunition. If multiple rockets are fired, an AD system would assign a certain number of defensive rockets to surely eliminate the incoming threat, depending on hight, speed and trajectory. From the available videos, this does not seem the case with iron Dome. If Iron Dome behaves as observed, the amount of rockets needed to prevent incoming strikes would be massive, with a faily low probability of sucess. I assume that they wil run out of Iron Dome missiles, if rocket strikes from Gaza continue for some more days, with visible impact to Israels public opinion.
It is the house of cards (Iron dome is 100% protective) falling.
good catch….like old proximity fuses
