[ Note: The hidden story in Iran’s careful response to new US sanctions was its stepping out front and center with charging the US with supporting state-sponsored terrorism, something long overdue.
I would have gone a bit further, in getting a discussion going at the UN about taking a look at their membership requirements for those involved in such things. Last time I looked, you could be fired from your job for not disclosing all of your past terrorist attacks on your employment application.
Don’t laugh. I have a precedent. After the many years of the South African apartheid bloody struggle, the key part of the reconciliation process was that everyone involved in nasty activities during that war had to admit what they did to get amnestied. It was called The Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) and was generally agreed to have been quite successful.
So the Iranians have thrown down the gauntlet to challenge other nations to join their effort. Some may think this a silly effort, but there were those who once thought that black South Africans would never have basic rights, or they thought that Obama would never get the Iran nuclear deal through.
And absent the Israeli die-hard puppets in the US Congress, most of the world is quite happy with the deal, which resulted in a huge reduction in Iran’s nuclear stockpiles. But still ignored as a key part of that story are all the claims of Iran having a secret nuclear weapons program, in that no hostile country ever put a shred of evidence on the table to prevent that agreement. When “put up or shut up” time came, they were silent, including Israel… JD ]

Shorty after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979, Washington implemented its first sanctions against Iran. Sanctions have simply increased against Tehran over the more than three decades since then.
However, This time around, sanctions are coming with a twist. It is the Iranians, the parliament in Tehran which has voted to sanction the United States.
