Lysol Maker and EPA issue Warning: Please Ignore Trump, Don’t Drink Disinfectant Products (or do anything else he says)

[ Editor’s Note: I at first thought this was one of Kevin’s Disassociated Press satires until I read further down to see it was not. You just can’t make this sh_t up.

This reveals that the White House staff has no control over them whatsoever. They are doing nothing when he needs to be professionally evaluate. That said, could it be that Trump is just goofing on us all, saying stuff like this just to hog the media which has always been his most often used political tactic to drown out hi critics.

Fortunately the Lysol people and the EPA we quick to go on record NOT to take our all omnipotent President’s advice.

Daily Beast: Here’s a sentence you probably never expected to read—the manufacturer behind disinfectants Lysol and Dettol has pleaded with the public to ignore the president of the United States and refrain from drinking their toxic heavy-duty cleaning products.

During the Thursday coronavirus press briefing, President Trump pondered, out loud and in front of several television cameras, whether injecting disinfectant into human bodies could be a good way to fight the deadly virus.

On Friday, the maker of Lysol said that due to “recent speculation,” it wanted to urge people not to ingest their disinfectants. “We must be clear that under no circumstance should our disinfectant products be administered into the human body (through injection, ingestion or any other route,)” the Reckitt Benckiser Group said in a statement early Friday, adding: “Please read the label and safety information.”

Later on Friday, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency also cautioned against following the president’s suggestion, saying in a statement reported by the Associated Press: “Never apply the product to yourself or others. Do not ingest disinfectant products.”

Improper use of Disinfectants

Due to recent speculation and social media activity, RB (the makers of Lysol and Dettol) has been asked whether internal administration of disinfectants may be appropriate for investigation or use as a treatment for coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2).

  3. That moment when you realize that wisdom does not always come over the years. I hope that most US citizens will not rush to buy season tickets in the solarium and add washing powder to flour. In fact, this is a tragedy. The same tragedy when our Yeltsin beat drums in a drunken stupor, like a shaman, under the influence of fly agaric. When Yeltsin pushed a speech in the US Congress. When Yeltsin, drunk, pissed on the front landing gear of his presidential plane. And there were reporters around. Perhaps it is worth limiting the age of the president so as not to become hostages of senile dementia? This is all sad ….

    • @David Odell, all you say is right, David. But they are Presidents. First faces of the State (as we say). They have the less right for mistakes and unhonorable behaviour. This is why i respect Putin. We got nothing to blame him for his behaviour and outlook.

    • At least Yeltsin was drunk, Trump did this stone cold sober with a straight face.

      Yeltsin’s drinking may have been a display of humanization under pressure, whereas trump is a display of feeling no pressure at all, due to sociopathic narcissism.

      Trump’s base would actually be enthusiastic if he peed on the front tire of the plane. And he did put his hands on the orb like a wizard.and did the sword dance..LOL

    • That is true. I maintain, peeing on a tire, is less harmful and further from judgement, than telling 350 million people to drink or inject bleach.
      I’m not sure it is a compliment to NOT do this. If the video did not exist, few would believe it happened.
