Hundreds of Dead Sea Creatures Wash Ashore in the Kamchatka Peninsula of Russia

Health Editor’s Note: Hundreds of sea creatures were washed ashore on the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia after a yellow- gray, putrid smelling sludge was found floating on the surface of the ocean. Surfers were affected with nausea, fever, stinging eyes before the sludge appeared. Varying explanations have been offered for this great killing off of sea life. One is that old rocket fuel, stored on a nearby military base, leaked and rain washed toxins into the ocean. Or a military drill went bad or an oil tanker leaked, or a toxic waste dump. There is really quite horrible!…Carol

  1. Garry, The amount of sea life killed is horrible. Not to mention what it will eventually do to humans.
