Daily Mail: Scottish MPs are set to vote on whether the Scottish Government should pursue an Unexplained Wealth Order to investigate the source of financing for former US President Donald Trump‘s Scottish resorts.
The debate on Wednesday is being brought to chamber by co-convenor of the Scottish Greens Patrick Harvie.
Harvie is pushing for Nicola Sturgeon to investigate ‘serious and evidenced concerns’ surrounding Mr Trump’s purchases of the Turnberry hotel.
There are also concerns surrounding land for Trump’s inaugural property in Aberdeenshire. If authorities are granted a UWO, they would question Trump about how he acquired his Scottish assets.
Most notably, they would probe where the £35.7 million Trump used to purchase the Turnberry resort came from.
‘Mrs Sturgeon has been avoiding our questions about Trump’s cash purchase of Turnberry for nearly two years, saying the decision is nothing to do with her,’ legal director of campaign group Avaaz said.
Trump purchased the hotel and golf courses from Leisurecorp in 2014 and the resort was renamed Trump Turnberry.

This will be egg on the face of the US if Scotland enforces our “dead in the water” emoluments clause more than we do. The need for an update to the emoluments is to give it teeth, because all we see are soft gums and drool.
I look forward to seeing the records of how much was spent by the US military at said, golf courses.
