On the sidelines of the consultative meeting of Gulf Cooperation Council leaders which took place in the city of Jeddah on Tuesday, HRH Muhammad bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz — Crown Prince, first deputy Prime Minister, the Minister of Interior and the Chairman of Saudi Civil Defense— , expressed his gratitude to God Almighty for the abundance of grace and security which he bestowed upon this holy land and stressed that Saudi Arabia’s intervention in regional crises stems from Riyadh’s perpetual keenness towards Middle-East’s stability and security and from this perspective the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia responded to legitimacy appeal in Yemen so the brotherly Yemeni people can enjoy the security and stability but it must be noted that Operation ‘Decisive Storm’ became protracted and out of our expectations due to  the fact that the participant countries evaded the tasks entrusted to them.

Regarding the Syrian dossier, added HRH Prince Muhammad bin Nayef, it was expected the downfall of Assad regime with the assistance of Turkey and United States and we relied so much on these hopes which did not materialized on the ground.

” We regret that the Arab world witnessed specially during the last two years myriad of crises and calamities and all these facts make us to review our polices and  calculations ,and if necessary , we must make concessions , real and painful in the same time, in all aforementioned crises if we intend to guide the Arab world to peace and rescue it from infighting and rivalry,” added Prince Muhammad bin Nayef.
