Iran to remain in Syria to keep Israel out: Official
… by Press TV, Tehran
[ Editor’s Note: The days of only the US having military forces stationed all over the planet ‘to protect its interests” appear to be over. Other nations, including Iran, are joining the club, mainly due to the red carpet being rolled open for them.
The US-Israel-NATO-Gulf State “Axis of Terrorism” has given all those currently targeted, and those on the future target list, the right to jump into the anti-terrorism business with both feet.
To sit back out their behinds leaving the initiative to the attackers would be beyond stupid. The terror proxy wars, plus the new all out economic warfare being conducted, have moved from being a part-time military exercise to being the main course of the meal.
Unprecedented is the change from singling out weak third world countries in a slow moving, below the radar “dominoes” policy, to targeting entire regions at once. I have long editorialized that the only feasible defense for this neo-Western warfare is to see a series of regional mini-NATO type military structures set up, fully operational as a deterrent for their being easy targets.
Syria and Iraq are testaments to how much a pound of prevention is worth, compared to having to see your country destroyed while pushing terror proxies out once they have been established.
Trump has added another layer to this new war by targeting the EU, but he has some cover there.
America has been screwed on some aspects of its trade policy, but then other parts of US imports being blocked are totally reasonable, like the garbage health-destroying food products that the US does so love to make and sell.
I have often thought they were in cahoots with the medical-hospital coalition to make sure a steady stream of new clients was coming their way, a conveyor belt for funneling lifetimes of asset accumulation into a few major industrial pockets during old age.
Thus ends my cheery missive for today… Jim W. Dean ]

A senior Iranian official says Iranian military advisers will continue their presence in Syria to help the Arab country defeat an all-out foreign-sponsored militancy.
Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, the Iranian parliament speaker’s special adviser on international affairs, stressed that Syrians would not permit the Zionists in their homeland following the collapse of the Daesh terrorist group.
“The Zionist regime tries to gain dominance over Syria after Daesh, but resistance forces and military advisers from the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue their presence alongside Syria to counter terrorism, ” he said in a meeting with Palestinian Ambassador to Tehran Salah al-Zawawi.
“The Syrian people will not allow the country to be turned into the hotbed of Zionist terrorists once again,” Amir-Abdollahian noted.
Over the past few years, Israel has frequently attacked military targets inside Syria in an attempt to prop up terrorist groups that have been suffering defeats at the hands of Syrian government forces. Tel Aviv has also been providing weapons to anti-Damascus militants as well as medical treatment to the Takfiri elements wounded in Syria.
Iran has been offering military advisory support to Syria at the request of the Damascus government, enabling its army to speed up its gains on various fronts against terror outfits.
Amir-Abdollahian also said Tehran will keep up its “decisive support” for the resistance and will not give in to pressures as regards the Palestinian issue and Israeli threats against the security of the regional countries.
Zawawi, for his part, warned that Israel’s right-wing Likud party, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, is seeking to control the Muslim world.
He further said the US is exerting economic pressure on some regional countries to advance the plans of President Donald Trump, who himself is implementing the will of the international Zionism.
A top security official says Iran will maintain its advisory mission in Syria and continue support for resistance groups, in response to the US calling for those activities to be stopped.
Iran’s role in Syria is reported to be addressed at the July 16 meeting between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, in the Finnish capital, Helsinki.subtit
John Bolton, Trump’s national security adviser, said last weekend that the summit offered the possibility of a “larger negotiation on helping to get Iranian forces out of Syria.”
Such a deal, he said, would amount to “a significant step forward” in promoting Washington’s interests in the region. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, however, rejected reports that Iran’s role in Syria would be raised at the Helsinki summit.
“At any rate, the Russian side is getting ready, and Putin is prepared to discuss the topic of Syria,” he said, adding reports that Trump and Putin will discuss “a third country … are not true.”

Ecuador introduced a bill at the World Health Assembly advocating breast feeding. The US jumped in and blocked it, while advocating for formula manufacturers. Maybe I’m just weird , but when I was a single dad, nothing curdled my gizzard more than feeding an infant something called Formula ! But, Russia stepped in and reintroduced the bill and it passed.
“Smaller countries backed away from the resolution under US pressure, but it eventually passed with most of its original language intact after Russia supported it. A Russian source tells the Times they decided to introduce the resolution because smaller nations were being bullied. Advocates called the US moves “appalling” in light of countless studies showing that breastfeeding offers clear health benefits. ” http://www.newser.com/story/261656/report-us-tried-to-block-breastfeeding-resolution.html
Does this make me a Russian troll ?
Hasn’t Russia already given their answer on Iran’s presence in Syria? Didn’t I hear Lavrov, or some other high ranking Russian politician say something like … “As to the question of Iran being in Syria, you must talk to the Syrians”. Makes sense to me.
