[ Editor’s Note: Macron has been trying to wear the Yellow Vests down, and it has been working. The numbers participating have been declining so that has been encouraging to him.
This weekend saw a major uptick in the violence, but authorities attributed it to about 1500 of the hard-core demonstrators among the 10,000 on the streets in Paris. Sadly some of the peaceful demonstrators, unhappy with the violence in the past, are beginning to view it as the only way of staying in the news and not taking the bone that Macron has thrown them.
The protesters do not want symbolic change, but more protection for the non-union workers who are sliding into part-time serfdom with no future for anything better.
But they are not well organized, which Macron has exploited, biding his time for them to disintegrate due to internal squabbles so everybody can get sick of it eventually and go home… JD ]
