Cherish Your Beginning is an emotional look at the author’s life, told through poems she wrote in the early 70s. Owens grew up in the foster care system after the death of her parents. She started writing poems to express herself at a time when she felt that she did not have a presence.

About the author: Randi Owens joined the USAF after graduating from high school. She remained in the Air Force for five years before being honorably discharged. She then received an Associates degree from Anchorage Community College. Then she received Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees from Eastern Illinois University. She also received Certification as a Chemical Dependency Counselor from the College of Great Falls. She has worked as a Youth at Risk Program Manager, Chemical Dependency Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor. Owens has lived in Alaska for over 27 years.
Carol graduated from Riverside White Cross School of Nursing in Columbus, Ohio and received her diploma as a registered nurse. She attended Bowling Green State University where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and Literature. She attended the University of Toledo, College of Nursing, and received a Master’s of Nursing Science Degree as an Educator.
She has traveled extensively, is a photographer, and writes on medical issues. Carol has three children RJ, Katherine, and Stephen – one daughter-in-law; Katie – two granddaughters; Isabella Marianna and Zoe Olivia – and one grandson, Alexander Paul. She also shares her life with her husband Gordon Duff, many cats, and two rescues.
