Trump as Pontius Pilate in fishnets

Daily Beast: “During that sham trial, Pontius Pilate afforded more rights to Jesus than Democrats afforded this president in this process,” he concluded.

Well, it only took a few hours for a Republican to liken the president to the son of God himself.

During the House floor debate ahead of Wednesday evening’s historic impeachment vote, Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) compared President Donald Trump to Jesus Christ, claiming that the president has been treated less fairly by Democrats than Jesus was just before his crucifixion.

“I rise today in opposition not only to these articles of impeachment but in strong opposition to the process that has brought us to this point,” Loudermilk declared during his House speech, adding: “Our founders knew a government without constraints could accuse anyone of any crime at any time even without compelling evidence.”

Noting that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said last month that Trump should provide evidence to prove his innocence in the impeachment inquiry, Loudermilk said that “the Constitution also guarantees that the accused can call witnesses to testify on their behalf.”

Claiming that Trump and Republicans were “continually denied that right throughout this process,” the Georgia lawmaker groused that Democrats have prevented the president from both questioning the “so-called whistleblower” and finding out the person’s identity.

“Before you take this historic vote today, one week before Christmas, keep this in mind,” Loudermilk exclaimed. “When Jesus was falsely accused of treason, Pontius Pilate gave Jesus the opportunity to face his accusers.”

“During that sham trial, Pontius Pilate afforded more rights to Jesus than Democrats afforded this president in this process,” he concluded.

  1. I also remember the Central Park Five and the Trumpsters full page ad over the crime. This is what started me on the path to Trump watch. I remember when they were exonerated by the actual perp and were given monetary restitution, Trump was incensed, basically saying that they were guilty of something. But he was not alone in his rhetoric inciting people to violence and bigotry. The new and improved Pat Buchanan of today, the former Republican White House aide, called for the oldest of the group, Wise, to be “tried, convicted and hanged in Central Park by June 1”. For sure, Trump is exactly what he looks like and his message has not changed. So what does this say for what Trumpets call American values, which Trump supposedly personifies?…and Americans thought Germans were idiots (and criminal) for following Hitler.

  2. Josephus wrote a good account of a few Jesus characters that appeared around Roman times, all their tales mashed together. Then there’s those left out bible parts that speak of magicians having competitions to the death in Rome before the citizens. A tale far more worthy than a mere lion . I’m sure the flaming chariots to the heavens is a tad uncomfortable to the people that worship only the beings that were known to be cast unto the earth

  3. “Barry Loudermilk:
To my Dem colleagues who support impeachment, you are frustrated Donald Trump won in 2016, frustrated MAGA hats are everywhere, and frustrated Repub policies built the strongest economy we’ve ever seen. Your reliance on this sham impeachment process will not be forgotten.”

Let’s see: Reagan gave the US economy Reaganomics which destroyed the middle class. Bush jr gave the US the mortgage backed securities that crashed the market in 2008. And now this clown will fully bankrupt the US with his trade “my wand is bigger than yours” wars and his record military spending. Just like his long trail of business bankruptcies.

Hey dude what do regressive people like you smoke down in Georgia to stay so stupid ?

    • Even in his Georgia he’s unpopular. This is from his Twitter: “Oh my god are you embarrassing all of us from this State.”

And I’ve always said it’s not the “deep state” that is referred to as the swamp it’s the “Deep South” ….

A lot of people don’t remember that but during his first few months in office on June 22, 2009, President Obama signed into law the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act, which gives the US Food and Drug Administration the authority to regulate the manufacturing, marketing and sale of tobacco products. What that did was to take away years of paychecks for the law makers of Deep South who were getting paid by the tobacco giants to push their junk.
The party of no was formed after these inbred people felt the squeeze.
And these senators are the real pro Israeli likudniks in the US politics.
