Health Editor’s Note: I thought ‘scientific’ advisors to the president were supposed to get their information from medical and scientific sources, but no, these sources are not good enough for Trump. Dr. Slaoui, the Chief Scientific adviser, for ‘all things coronavirus vaccine and treatment’ has based his recommendations on information he obtained from the news media. Those were his very words.

During Trump’s Republican National Convention, Trump announced that a vaccine could be ready “before the end of the year and maybe even sooner” using this as a political ploy.
