Jane has been with VT for 15 years, reporting on events in France. In France, VT is ‘presse’ and covers theatre and cultural events.

Jane, a former beverage executive, moved to Paris with her mother some 30 years ago. She has worked with Gordon and Carol for twenty plus years as part of a Luxembourg based beverage branding company and on projects in Africa.

Jane spent much of the last two years in one surgery after another for intestinal issues.
The call came early this morning from Gennady Sevastyanov, our Paris based photographer. VT lost Peter Panayotou in Paris some 5 years ago…dead from slow poisoning that failed to kill Duff, Hanke and Ellis.
Jane will be missed as a friend, certainly by Gordon and Carol…Jane’s last remaining family…but by so many others at VT….Shrimpton….Khrushchev…Husseini.
She was a gentle soul…a person of infinite decency.

Maybe for the first time, almost every adult in the industrialized world is faced with choices emanating from Covid 19. To vax? To mask? To hide in the basement? It has become maddening with no end in sight. But, the choices are personal and will be made. It all takes me right to the late, great George Jones song “Choices”.

Death comes no matter your choices. The {overall} best decision is to get the vax and later get the virus. My wife and I had no choice, we got the virus first and vaccine much later. But, depending on pre-existing conditions , it may not be the best choice. The virus appears to attack particular personal vulnerabilities, even the ones you may not know about.
The cloudiness of the unknown reveals the fears and realities of the living. In that place, there is no guilt for what decision anyone would make. It ought not be used to judge. Jane loses nothing by making her choice, even if someone else thinks so. She is gathered unto her people. There is no blame. When the living choose to keep the dead alive, it prevents complete crossover. That is the evidence of transformation, same as the vaccine evidence of survival.
The distillation process leads to, letting go, in spite of reluctance. To let go, is a primordial component of the process, and of the pantheon of time. Go Jane go. Be gathered unto your people. No tethers. No anchors. The eulogy is the send off. It should occur in short order.
When the living hang onto the dead, it is an anchor to their journey. It matters not which god.
