[ Editor’s Note: The diplomatic anger against the Trump-Netanyahu ploy to preempt a final resolution on the status of Jerusalem is growing. The question now is how far it will go, which is anyone’s guess.
No one is holding their breath on getting an “I’m sorry” comment from either of them, so the next best thing is to advertise widely to the world, “Welcome to the US’ Unipolar World” with the US and little Israel teaming up to put the kibosh on any Palestinian settlement.
Jared Kushner’s plan, akin to a 21st century acid trip, is now dead in the water. Israel never presents a peace plan that it knows the Palestinians could accept, so when they don’t, they can do a rerun on their “no partners for peace” mantra, which the Zios have not used in a long time.
A lopsided UN General Assembly vote would hurt the US, despite what the Nikki Haley airheads might think. The difference now, as opposed to the past, is that America’s “going rogue” is no longer a theory. It is being deployed in the open, with an “Up yours if you don’t like it” note from The Donald tacked onto it. He has never been much for style.
As I type, more and more country-level trade deals are opting out of the dollar; and I doubt they will ever go back. The awakening Frankenstein, stemming from the US bullying on sanctions, is at a feverish pitch over trade, financing and settlement formats are being pursued by those that refuse to be Neo-Colonialist satraps.
Trump’s “America first” marketing pitch is being met with a “No thank you, we will deal with someone else” response. Donald’s attempt to pin his failures solely on Russia and China is going to crash and burn.
On every schoolyard in the world, all the kids and even teachers, know who the bullies are. They never hide or wear disguises.
What Trump is trying to do unto others, will be done unto him at some point. He just has too much baggage, and when it all crashes and burns politically, the Repubs will dump him like a beach vacation romance, and repackage themselves in some kind of a New Republican mumbo-jumbo. The Arab League has lashed out at the US for vetoing a UN Security Council (UNSC) resolution which called for annulment of Washington’s controversial recognition of Jerusalem al-Quds as Israel’s capital.
On Tuesday, Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit expressed discontent over the US veto against the draft, saying the measure will lead to isolation of the US.
Abul Gheit noted that using the veto right against other 14 UNSC member states reveals Washington’s flagrant defiance of a clear international consensus over the issue.
He said the Arab countries will present the draft resolution to the United Nations General Assembly under the article 377, “Uniting for Peace,” to make it mandatory for all member states.
Under the Uniting for Peace resolution, if the permanent members of the UN Security Council fail to take the required actions to maintain international peace and security due to a lack of unanimity, the General Assembly should immediately consider the matter and issue the necessary recommendations.
On Monday, US ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley vetoed a UN Security Council’s resolution which called for annulment of Trump’s controversial decision regarding Jerusalem al-Quds.
Fourteen members of the 15-member council voted in favor of the Egyptian-drafted resolution, which did not specifically name the US or US President Donald Trump but expressed “deep regret at recent decisions concerning the status of Jerusalem” al-Quds, while US Ambassador Nikki Haley wielded Washington’s veto against the call.
Hezbollah slams US bullying
Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement also condemned the US “bullying” at the Security Council, calling it a “slap” in the face of the global community.
In a statement on Tuesday, Hezbollah called on the global community not to surrender to the US policies and urged the Palestinians to continue their “successful uprising.”
On December 6, Trump announced his decision to recognize Jerusalem al-Quds as Israel’s capital and relocate the US embassy in occupied lands from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem al-Quds.
The dramatic shift in Washington’s Jerusalem al-Quds policy drew fierce criticism from the international community, including the United States’ Western allies, and triggered demonstrations against the US and Israel worldwide.
Jerusalem al-Quds remains at the core of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, with Palestinians hoping that the eastern part of the city would eventually serve as the capital of a future independent Palestinian state.
