COVID-19 Update: Reinfection Almost Never Happens for at Least 6 Months

Health Editor’s Note: New findings from a study using thousands healthcare workers in England who contracted COVID-19 and produced antibodies to it were unlikely to become infected again or if reinfection, not for 6 or so months. In the rare instance when a person again tested positive, after recovery from first infection, rarely showed signs of a new illness.

At this point it is not written in stone how long protective antibodies remain. While this may be promising news among those that have survived infection to live another day, there are still many who have never been infected and are cannon fodder for this virus. We know that the vaccine will be given in two doses and will most probably end up being a yearly vaccination, as is the influenza vaccine….Carol

  1. I continue to get messages from lunatics claiming Covid is a hoax and the vaccine is a scam to enslave us. Of course they are the same ones who say Trump will be inaugurated to a second term.
    So I want to say thanks to you Carol for continuing to give us authentic information!
    My wife and I have been very careful since March. She is a teacher who has been doing on-line instruction to third graders since then. Her school system recently issued orders for teachers to return to the classroom January 14! Insanity.
    Her decision: retirement, effective January 1. They are going to lose a master teacher, but we are happy.
    Can’t wait for the vaccine.

  3. vaxx is the finally wanted test directly to people.
    And there are many (many researchers with great skills) which are telling us that vaxx can kill ALL OLD people and make a lot of damages to young people.
    GIVING NOTHING for what concern the good future of vaccinated people.

    • osamabin0, The vaccine will save the lives of many older people since they are the ones who are most at risk due to their lowered immune systems due to aging. The vaccine will not damage anyone but will put an end to this pandemic. COVID-19 is here and while Trump and his cronies have tried to kill us off with a leadership vacuum what denigrated science and medicine, this vaccine along with continued personal safety measures will keep this coronavirus from wiping us all off the face of the planet.
