Fox 17 News: At a news conference Wednesday afternoon, Mayor Ginther and Columbus City Council President Shannon Hardin called for Coy’s termination.



“Officer Adam Coy’s body camera shows the unjustified killing of Andre Hill. I call for the immediate arrest of Adam Coy. Mr. Hill’s family deserves justice,” Hardin said.

Ginther said he is not prejudging Coy in the shooting, but is calling for his termination because he failed two department directives. Coy did not turn on his body camera until after the shooting took place. Ginther also said he failed to render aid to Hill, which is one of the duties required by an officer.  From an earlier complaint against Coy:

According to a release from the city, the preliminary investigation indicates the man was visiting someone at the home.

A weapon was not recovered at the scene and body camera footage also shows a delay in rendering first aid to the man, the city said.

“I am deeply saddened, frustrated, angry, demanding answers of what happened in our community earlier this morning. I am committed to transparency and accountability in our division of police. We will seek the truth wherever it takes us. And justice will be served,” Ginther said.

  1. There needs to be a nation wide mandate on bodycams…with the pifggies having NO option of turning them off and the videos need to placed on a public server so the piggies can’t hide them when they aren’t exonerated by the video.
    This would also prevent situations like the Laquan McDonald murder in Chicago where they hid the body cams for over 5 years…..thanks for that one Rahm, you A-hole!

  2. F@ck! Shot an innocent man in his own house. Walked over, kicked the body and walked around like a hyena. Even the thought of providing first aid did not enter his moronic head! Was this killer cop under something? Life becomes a demonic lottery in the USA.
