…from MSNBC

[ Editor’s Note: Oh my, a ‘picked’ Republican activist, Donald Kirk Hartle, whose wife had died of cancer, seems to have donated a freebie to the Trumpers.

He voted his wife’s mail in ballot, and then made up a story that he had never seen it arrive at the house, and hence it was proof of massive voter fraud, i.e., if it happened to him in ‘must have’ happened to others.

It was a stupid ploy by lazy Republicans figuring ‘who would possibly know, right?’. And then there was no one else in Nevada that claimed that this had happened to them. Dear Repubs, you should have had a few hundred do it and it would have been a better scam, but that would have been more jail time for you.

The news does not say exactly how they caught him, but I suspect they had hand writing experts get hold of some of his writing, confronted him with the evidence, and he gave up the ghost. He is charged with voting twice, class D felonies, with up to four years in the slammer and a $5000 fine, plus his legal fees, plus all the money he will not make while he is in jail. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Also, missing is no mention of what other Repubs were in on the scam. Sadly none of this matters in terms of affecting the Trumpers’ fervor that the election was stolen. It is now a political opioid for them, and all legal, and free for those who want to ride along.

There are three types of them. You have the handlers running the show, raising the money, and organizing the events. And then there are those that actually believe their bullshit, the ‘critical thinking impaired’; and then those who do know it is a hoax, but if it works, what the hell, they can throw a legitimate president out of office, they think. Of course they don’t mean now, but in 2024.

From the Washington Post we have:  According to his LinkedIn profile, Hartle is the chief financial officer and treasurer for the Ahern Family of Companies, whose owner, Don Ahern, is a prominent Trump supporter. The company was fined last year for flouting pandemic safety guidelines in order to host a rally for Trump in Nevada.

Another strange story is the one that the National Review ran a John Eastman story that he had walked back his 12th amendment story on throwing the election over, claiming that it was just a draft and never something that he actually advocated. Bob Woodward claims to have sources that say he did… Jim W. Dean ]

Rachel Maddow shares the story of a man who became a Republican symbol of anti-Trump election fraud when it was discovered that an absentee ballot had been cast in the name of his deceased wife. That man has now been charged with voting in his wife’s name.
