[ Editor’s Note: This video is a trip down the Yellow Brick Road, where the US turned most of Ukraine into proxy terrorist killing zone, when after supporting a violent coup with NATO and EU involvement the new government declared open season hunting on all ethnic Russians.
This included not only their possessions, but their lives, also. As for political blowback in the US for this act of mass murder, you needed a magnifying glass to find it even among the Democrats.
After several years now and all the carnage inflicted on so many Ukrainians, plus those on MH-17 that was shot down, we have seen no regrets in a West that thinks it can blame the whole event on Russia.
On the contrary they hate Russia for denying them their total victory, which would have had the US missile defenses right up on the Russian border so they could counter a Russian nuclear retaliatory strike from the Ural mountains base while they were ascending and most vulnerable.
Ukraine is where the US will be remembered for going rogue, Ukraine and Syria. And despite Obama’s miracle of the JCPOA, he will wear the stain of the Syrian peoples’ blood til his dying day... Jim W. Dean ]

I’d argue that Obama got it right on not arming Ukraine with lethal weapons, as doing so was only going to embolden the fanatics. In reality, such weapons will make no significant different on the battlefield. A quick look at the stats from 2014/2015 suggests that it wasn’t tanks and apcs but rather artillery.
Most of the heavy weapons and deaths (the bulk of which were the crews of heavy weapons) were achieved by accurate artillery. The Republics won the artillery duels by an enormous margin. While there’s no proof (and of course there wouldn’t be), I’d be willing to wager that Russia sent expert artillery teams to wreck havoc from afar, where there was virtually no risk of being captured. Those killed would be deep behind friendly lines and could be whisked away, to ‘die’ later in a tragic training accident.
The Republics control the center of a large area, and that gives them an unassailable advantage–especially when their side has vastly superior artillery operators. The Republics can move their artillery around in the back (near the Russian border) and reach any point on the contact line, and beyond it. There’s no point for the Republics to put tanks or apcs up on the front lines where they can be targeted.
What will likely happen is that Ukrainian soldiers are going sell those $200,000 missiles to the highest bidder.
Will be interesting to see how long it takes the Republics to ‘capture’ some Javelins.
