Flu virus with ‘pandemic potential’ found in China

A new strain of flu that has the potential to become a pandemic has been identified in China by scientists.
It emerged recently and is carried by pigs, but can infect humans, they say.
The researchers are concerned that it could mutate further so that it can spread easily from person to person, and trigger a global outbreak.
While it is not an immediate problem, they say, it has “all the hallmarks” of being highly adapted to infect humans and needs close monitoring.
As it’s new, people could have little or no immunity to the virus.
The scientists write in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences that measures to control the virus in pigs, and the close monitoring of swine industry workers, should be swiftly implemented.

A bad new strain of influenza is among the top disease threats that experts are watching for, even as the world attempts to bring to an end the current coronavirus pandemic.

Don’t worry, Carol, our bio-weapons labs are more than likely working on this as a new alternative to COVID-19 as I write this. When they succeed, it’s anyone’s guess which nation they will spring it on. COVID-19 was initially directed at China and Iran. The next plandemic… who knows?
Tommy, My question is why produce these viruses if there is no vaccine or antidote for them? Strong death wish????
I’m thinking they have a vaccine already, just as they do for COVID-19. That’s why Trump is so cavalier about wearing a mask and the Davos crowd is not worried in the least about themselves contracting it. “Very nasty people” as Gordon would say.
