[ Editor’s Note: The US openly cranks up the New Cold War on China using the Israeli justification. Anyone who can defend themselves from an attack by us is considered a threat, hence we have the right to improve our positioning for a preemptive strike.

A retired Israeli General put it more bluntly. “We will not sit by and watch someone reach military parity with us. We would attack them first to prevent that from happening.”

That shows what Israel’s signature was worth signing onto the UN Charter…not much, as with a number of countries with the same attitude. “We will abide by the rules as long as that suits our purposes”, which includes the US currently.

The missile war cranks up

Sure China has a lot of medium range missiles, but that is reasonable when the US Navy far exceeds its own, and the medium range missiles on US ships, including nuclear ones, are not banned by the treaty.

That loop hole would allow a US combat ships to be able to fire a preemptive strike from naval ships, submarines, from aircraft.

And now the US wants to put is midrange nukes on land, too, as it has left the missile treaty. US defense contractors are thrilled of course.

But when it comes to an arms race China will certainly manage to hold its own. By 2030 it will have a full navy, airforce and probably hypersonic weapons, so the stand off in the South China Sea would be a hair trigger one…JD ]

China says it is opposed to the deployment of US missiles in the Asia-Pacific region. Wang made the statement after the Russian Foreign Ministry said the U.S. withdrawal from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty was the biggest mistake.

The Russian statement came on the anniversary of the US nixing of the Cold War era INF Treaty. After announcing its decision to withdraw from the treaty, Washington declared that it would deploy land-based intermediate-range missiles in the Asia-Pacific region.
