Health Editor’s Note: Members of the Senate’s health committee formally requested the GAO investigation into reports that the White House sought to interfere with the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Reports and placing pressure on the CDC to loosen guidelines for re-opening schools and Azar’s overruling the FDA on coronavirus testing rules.
Very unfortunately this probe will not begin for 3 months. I wonder what Trump had to promise to get that delay?

Ethics and truth are totally foreign concepts to the pharma rubber stamp FDA, so they would have no idea what is or isn’t legal, moral or honest. As much as I detest Trump, he couldn’t possibly make this ‘agency’ any worse than it already is. The very person so-called conservatives continue to immortalize as a champion of personal rights, honesty and christian morality is the one that completely destroyed any semblance of concern for the public health. He and his ilk only revered money and power, yet is still championed by many as a patriot; from the October surprise, to the FDA, the Franklin scandal and Iran/Contra, his admin started our race downhill. Basically the same people that love Reagan, are Trump supporters…regardless of reality. But Trump ruin the FDA? How do you go below the bottom of the barrel?
zman, The Trump interference is currently directed at the process to produce vaccines, determine if they are safe to give, etc. His earlier statement about having a vaccine before election day, was to garner political points and if there was no vaccine, to blame the FDA for being ‘too careful’ and not doing their job, because that is what he is doing if he tries to rush the process and they do not comply to his demands. He has not one ounce of scientific/medical knowledge and does not listen to those who are there to advise him of such issues.
