In a statement on Tuesday, Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-NJ) called for a broad, sweeping Justice Department investigation into outgoing President Donald Trump in the coming year.
If DOJ or an independent counsel’s office DECLINES to investigate/prosecute Trump & Co., the Republicans will use that very fact to argue they did NOTHING WRONG, because if they had committed crimes they would have been prosecuted. Justice demands accountability & #JusticeMatters

“Donald Trump and members of his administration have committed innumerable crimes against the United States,” said Pascrell. “He has endangered our national security. He ripped families apart. He poisoned the Census.
Donald Trump must be prosecuted for his crimes & be made an example of.
We can never allow another president to run amok in the
White House. The argument will be if we prosecute it’ll divide the country more.

He has personally profited from his office. He has attacked our elections and sought to throttle democracy. He was rightly impeached by the House of Representatives. He has engaged in treachery, in treason. He has all but given up on governing and protecting our nation and if he had a shred of dignity he would resign today.”
the same people who have been telling us we can't defund the police because somebody has to do *something* about crime are now going to tell us that we need to just get over this regime's crimes against humanity https://t.co/IT3meTMjpu

Crime Prosecution Cycles Thread 6/10
I believe Trump will not do a broad series of pardons but he might pardon a few, mostly his kids. But even if Barr, Pence, Pompeo, Mnuchin, #LeningradLindsey, Giuliani etc were pardoned – they all would have to TESTIFY against Trump, so we pic.twitter.com/0WiIE9MUlo
— Tomi T Ahonen (@tomiahonen) November 18, 2020
“Therefore, in 2021 the entire Trump administration must be fully investigated by the Department of Justice and any other relevant offices. Donald Trump along with his worst enablers must be tried for their crimes against our nation and Constitution,” added Pascrell. “There must be accountability.”
We MUST prosecute the crimes of Trump, his family and his administration or we are not a nation of laws.

According to NBC News, President-elect Joe Biden does not intend to pressure the DOJ to pursue criminal investigations of Trump, wanting to turn a page on Trump’s repeated attempts to weaponize federal prosecutors against his political opponents.
Please calm down about Biden saying he wants to focus on getting COVID under control, not focusing on Trump’s crimes. Biden said he will appoint AG who can decide who & what to investigate w/o pressure from him. This is as it should be. Trump will be held accountable by new AG.

Putting a president in jail is the best thing for our country.
Do not expect other presidents to be eager about it. Once power is attained, the willingness to give it up is “not found”.
The executive branch is too big for one person. We need a council instead of a president.
Nope, the true believers will follow him right over the cliff like a bunch of lemmings.
I meant that as a reply to Edward.
What happens if Trumps issues a blanket pardon for himself before he leaves office? I think then, republicans and some supporters will not be able to run away from him fast enough.
you can still not sure that he will… “leaves office”….
