Already Gone: Trump Renegades likely to lose seats in Congress, as required by US law

VT: Over 150 members of the GOP including 14 members of the Senate are officially “in rebellion” against the United States and can’t legally become voting members of congress without a two-thirds majority vote…which will never happen.

This is the law and we are already there, or even well beyond “there.”

Alternet: Section 3 of the 14th Amendment literally says that anyone who has tried to rebel against the Constitution after having pledged to protect it can’t hold political office. This would include any GOP House members who signed onto an amicus brief supporting Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s bogus Supreme Court case seeking to toss hundreds of thousands of votes in four swing states, so that Trump can steal a democratically decided election.



The Section reads: “No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. ”

Democratic New Jersey Representative Bill Pascrell wrote in a tweet, “The text of the 14th Amendment expressly forbids Members of Congress from engaging in rebellion against the United States. Trying to overturn a democratic election and install a dictator seems like a pretty clear example of that.”  read more…

  1. This could only happen if Trump hasn’t already declared martial law and suspended the Constitution under provisions of the USA Patriot Act. That’s the US version of the German Enabling Act of 1933 which Hitler used to assume dictatorial power in Germany. The folks who brought you 9/11 have been instrumental in keeping the USA patriot Act in place ever since 2001 for just such an eventuality, a redo of 9/11 this time to be blamed on Iran. May Heaven help us all, especially the crew of the USS Nimitz.
