The US State Department has approved its first major arms sale to Saudi Arabia under US President Joe Biden with the sale of 280 air-to-air missiles valued at as much as $650 million.
On Thursday, the Pentagon notified Congress of the sale which the State Department had approved on Oct. 26. The missile built by Raytheon Technologies Corp. is capable of flying 20 miles and hitting an aerial target beyond a pilot’s visual range. Introduced in 1991, it has also been sold to other US allies such as Qatar, Kuwait and Jordan.
In addition to 280 AIM-120C-7/C-8 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM), the package would also include 596 LAU-128 Missile Rail Launchers (MRL) along with containers and support equipment, spare parts, US Government and contractor engineering and technical support.
This comes amid harsh criticism against Saudi Arabia for its military onslaught on Yemen. The kingdom, backed by the US and regional allies, launched a war on Yemen in March 2015, with the goal of bringing the government of former Yemeni president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi back to power and crushing Ansarullah movement.

The war has left hundreds of thousands of Yemenis dead, and displaced millions more. It has also destroyed Yemen’s infrastructure and spread famine and infectious diseases. Yemeni armed forces and allied Popular Committees, however, have grown steadily in strength against the Saudi-led invaders, and left Riyadh and its allies bogged down in the country.

We have armed Saudi Arabia with the most modern and lethal weapons available yet the man who was supposed to be a breath of fresh air in the WH in comparison to the last president, I think lots of Americans are waking up to the fact that Trump is still in WH, just using the name Joseph Biden. Very little has changed since the last elections and as time passes those who are awake will come to realize that this current is continuing Trump’s agenda. Now we have republicans encouraging Biden to send more weapons to Ukraine and station our navy in the Black Sea. Also mention was made of stationing US troops in Ukraine. Folks, we are rushing blindly into nuclear war.
We’re all waiting for the next shoe to drop. There’s no way that Trump could come back into power other than by something big that goes BANG! The Atlantic had an article a while back…

On bright side, these missles useless against the thousands of Yemeni ground to ground missles, swarms of small size drones, and Yemeni troop advances on the ground.
What they can do and what they are made for is shoot down other fighter jets, which Yemen has none.
Maybe they can shoot down large drones from Yemen, but to do so they expose their pilots and jets to be shot down by Yemeni ground to air missle systems who have advanced into once-held saudi territory.
These missles especially useless against Saudi army’s worst enemy, the desertions and surrenders of its 95% mercenary army made up of dirt poor foreign conscripts from foreign who could not give a shit about the saudi regime of insane sick fuckers keeping their power in Yemen, or anywhere else.
Trump sold 670 billion in military dogshit to Saudis in 2018, then 500 billion just before leaving office…Whats Biden doing – but being another Trump but at least the missles not good for shit.
