Shelling Attack Hits Donetsk Destroying Home
…from war correspondent Patrick Lancaster
[ Editor’s Note: The 40-year working grandmother had her house destroyed in 2014 and rebuilt. Now she has lost it for the second time, despite there being no military positions around her.
There are countless more besides her, and more on the way, I am afraid. The high-rise white-collar workers are getting to taste the bitter fruit this time, when in the past it was a tv viewing event.
Ukraine forces have been shelling Donbas civilian areas for so long, they think nothing of it. The West never shed a tear, nor really did anything to stop it, a shame on the Western culture itself.
But that said, who has really been in charge of it? For the US in particular, it seems to have become addicted to the forever wars. Follow the money to see who that historically benefits.
And those that do share the loot with the political establishment that always has its hand out due to the high cost of running for office here, election campaign time is the real Santa Claus in America, for the media anyway.
The war hype grifting in the US continues at full speed. I see nothing about the US involvement in the Kiev coup that started the whole disaster, not even getting included as a footnote.
On a better note, a long car caravan got out of Mariupol heading north to Kiev controlled lines, possibly to get caught under siege in a later battle. A large contingent of Chechens from Russia, with lots of experience in street fighting, is clearing Mariupol and humanitarian supplies are finally making it to the city.
But there was little news about the nationalist brigades there. What a hoot it would be if they stole the cars, changed into civilian clothes, and were sneaking themselves out. The only good news I see is the weather becoming warmer there, which will be a relief… Jim W. Dean ]
