A former US Marine Corps intelligence officer has not only warned that Russia is escalating its special military operation in Ukraine, but that this will result in “a slaughter, a massacre” for Ukraine. His statement comes as a lot of speculation is circulating following the appointment of Valery Gerasimov as commander of the overall Ukraine campaign, with the pre-eminent idea being that there was a “reshuffle”.

Russia’s Defence Ministry announced on January 11 a realignment of the commanders leading the war in Ukraine, with General Valery Gerasimov, chief of the Russian General Staff, becoming the overall commander of the campaign. The former commander, Sergey Surovikin, is now one of his three deputies.

“The time has come where 300,000 reservists have been mobilised, trained, equipped. Russia is getting ready to change the nature of the conflict,” said Scott Ritter, a former US Marine Corps intelligence officer who served in the Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Storm and in Iraq overseeing the disarmament of WMD’s.

Ritter said how the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are evidently preparing to expand the special military operation in Ukraine to a full war effort. From his experience, there has not been a great Russian failure, as Western media would have you believe, and rather, placing Gerasimov in his position is an indication that the military operation in Ukraine will expand.

The former intelligence officer believes that Russia will complete its demilitarisation and deNazification of Ukraine in 2023. Gerasimov having greater responsibilities is an indication of this.

“When Russia finishes this current military campaign, I believe the Ukrainian Army will be physically destroyed,” he said. “Tragically this means that tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers are going to lose their lives. This is going to be a slaughter, a massacre, but they opted for this so they pay the price.”

He also warned that there will likely be a “dedicated Strategic Air Campaign” with the aim of destroying Ukraine so-much-so that “there will be no viable functioning nation.” Ritter explained that this will force the final collapse of the Zelensky regime and allow a new government to come to power and accept surrender.

However, for the next phase of the expanded campaign to be a success, someone of Gerasimov’s experience is most suitable as he will contribute to improving the effectiveness of decision-making and coordinating the actions of the Russian armed forces in the combat zone and their provision of equipment.

Although Russia already had a commander, his authority did not cover the full range of tasks necessary for the military operation to be successful. With Russia evidently preparing for a major offensive, many issues need to be resolved, and quickly, such as the effective supply of arms and equipment to troops, the evacuation of the wounded, and others.

It is recalled that the commander of the Air Force, Army General Sergey Surovikin, who was appointed as the commander of the Ukraine military operation in October 2022, was only responsible for the units that were directly on the front lines of the fighting. However, some military units involved in combat operations, mainly aviation and the Navy, were located outside the area of the operation, which caused some problems in coordinating decisions and synchronising actions.

Now, Gerasimov will be on the ground among his soldiers on the front line. In modern warfare, the physical presence of the highest-ranking military office on the battlefield is exceptional, especially given the hybrid nature of modern conflicts which empowers advanced technology. None-the-less, technology cannot completely replace troops on the ground, and the presence of Gerasimov will surely be a massive morale boost.

As Gerasimov will have more leverage to ensure a better coordination of Russian air, land and naval forces against the Ukrainian military, it can be safely assumed that there will be an intensification of the conflict, likely in the springtime. This also aligns with Ritter’s belief that the total destruction of the Ukrainian state is an inevitable eventuality in 2023.

It is for this reason that only weeks before the first anniversary of the military operation, the West is scrambling to send a flurry of offensive armoured vehicles and other equipment to the Ukrainian military, even though there were initial fears on how Russia would react. Unfortunately for the West though, the war in Ukraine has reached a phase where all new equipment is quickly being turned into scrap metal.

Now, the current situation is about to become even more difficult for Ukraine with the reassignment of Valery Gerasimov.

  1. Hi Kevin
I am in Warsaw Poland now, have been here for 6 weeks. Interesting thing people back home (USA) dont know is almost everyone speaks Russian. I was surprised…also lots of Ukrainians, Kazhaks, Belarusians, Georgians, here. Many places to live, big apartmmenst everywhere, rent cheap maybe $700 a month average, you dont see any homeless here at all (like in USA) just a few street drunks…
I also dont see any russiaphobe madness “kill them, nuke them if needed” going on nor hear of it, like it is in USA (if you watch MSM and believe in it) Nobody likes the government leaders in Poland, (Duda) and nobody wants to go to war with Russia over Ukraine, as they all know whats goinng on (USA using Ukraine as proxy army to fight Russia, hoping to drain down Russia like Afghanistan did using lives of Ukrainians to do it)
Polish a catholic country, I dont see or hear of any 50% jewish thing, in fact seems like no jews here at all but thats just my observation could be wrong.
Maybe the owners of some businesses and most of media and some compromised by mossad politicians are but Poland is catholic, Lots of Muslims here too,
also EVERYONE you meet are very nice people. I really dont think Poland is going to war. If anything a place to launch US missles is all it is militarily. My opinions!
The second gulf war, Poland stayed out of it….pissed off the USA, so USA moved hundreds of tanks into Poland. Also I was not allowed as US citizen to pass through customs by bus from

    • …from Belarus to Warsaw…had to hike miles through snow back to Belarus and catch taxi to Minsk and catch flight later on into Warsaw – they let my wife and stepson through (Belarus citizens) but not me, and I am American citizen….so there is example you think Poland “allied” with the USA? Doubt it actually Poland “independent” big country big population, many types of people all friendly happy (as can be) and maybe a “link” up at the top levels of politics through corruption and payoffs with USA but regular people not warlike not aggressive not think they are “exceptional” etc. Also they hate fascist nazishere remember WW2 like Russia does.

    • Konehead
“here at all (like in USA) just a few street drunks…”
You must be kidding here… Hadn’t you ever seen thousands of homeless people in LA or NYC?

  2. aghhhh…permission to speak time….LOL

What is it u guys at VT want to censor/adjust or obliviate…

Do u really hava cascades of “fcks”…or “I,ll kill you”…
Why do you interrupt/slowhand the invite to comment….?

its becos… most of ur stuff is reposted and the writing of the “invited” is also extraction of ignored wanderings by clubhammer maniacs that blockade communication daily and slide down the barometer of interest within seconds….
In other words…..its the Heebie invite of distraction.
    Well done Jonas….

  3. I posted here but jonas has done his usual banana slip…
    anyway…
Irani.. sadly u dont seem ontop of your facts…
the hillary/democrats…RINOS… jews runnin the show seems to have
    eluded your reading.
    but never mind…we all do catch-up…(not ketch-up)
    Bush/Obama/Clinton/hillary are just a delivery mechanism…financed by
    …probably..Vatican/P3/Chabad Lubavitchers/Jesuits…and mainly by Freemasons…
So Irani…not being rude here…do ya homework.

    • kevin57, sorry for the delay… I didn’t mean to say that I believed Hillary’s words… but the people who support the democratic party and at the same time “worship” Put-in… are just too funny… I don’t think there is much difference between America’s political parties, cause I believe all these stories are designed to fool the sheeple… I’m just struggling to understand people’s logic…

I said, in one of VT’s articles that Put-in never told the truth about America’s crimes, so he isn’t the one who pretends to be (an anti-America hero), and someone said “Put-in wants to live”…. it just doesn’t make sense to me… the whole story is that even if the multi-polar world looms out, the actors still remain the same… China, Russia.. new players, what’s the difference for “humanity”? Economics will probably change, but what about humanity? Sure the multi-polar world will still be controlled by the Joooos!!

What is Russia fighting for? It wants to have the same power as America has, Russia fights because it wants to be America…they fight for money and power, not humanity, they don’t fight with America because of its crimes and massacres… they’ve already proven in the Soviet Era, that they can be as criminal as the USA! Doing homework is better than backing the wrong side because we’re responsible for what we support and what we say… Neither sides deserve to be supported in this war…
      Thank you soooo much! 😉

  5. I have a question for all of you, especially those who vote for and support the democratic party…. Hillary Clinton in her book, What happened, tries to prove that Russia/Put-in did interfere (indirectly) in the 2016 election and that Putin, wanted Trump in the oval office. Since Hillary is a trusted politician for democrats, do you agree with her? If so, how do you support Put-in while according to Hillary, he loves Trump? I have no point but just like to know about your reasoning (if there’s any)…

  6. Probably Russia already using small “deniable” nukes that leave zero radiation behind, its all burned up in the blast – these very common nowadays, and make for one thing besides bunker busters or dialed in for “flat pattern” destruction (used in Vietnam war to create instant airfields)…they also make for a very effective EMP weapon to knock out nearby electronics and computer chips so Ukraine army has no communication, and they can only tell soldiers to climb into foxhole and dont retreat or manuever left or right unless you get orders and orders never come so it becomes surrender or die for the poor guys who really dont want to be there in first place (unless psycho nazis like their “leaders”).
Best for Ukreainian people and whole world, for Biden to call it all off.
Recognize Donbass and Crimea as part of Russia and make up some excuse of how this was all a victory or “wake up call” for the USA and NATO, like modern media wil declare Vietnam was actually a victory just the soldiers hands were tied by politicions etc etc…
Actually it would be a victory if called off now, as some compromise through negotiation is possible still…..a victory you could then call it, in comparison to the complete defeat in near future.

    • The “victory” could be framed as “we stopped Russia in Ukraine”

and so they never invaded Poland or Germany or rest of Europe….

and then it can be said they “would of” but for the US and NATO support so there you go,
The perfect “narrative” and media talking point the russiaphobe brainwashed public will go along with, and they really dont have a choice anyways.

  7. we can assume russia will occupy to the fullest extent now…due to
NATO/UK/USA stupidity…probably organized and promoted by Lubavitchers.
    So… a plan already considered….
Russia will have a linguistic rainbow to satisfy….already east of Dniepro…notta serious problem to integrate.
However it seems as the occupation travels west the more resilience/resistance thickens.
IMO….Russia should establish totally rigid control.
The idea of allowing the Polish an olive branch …whilst sensible and attractive…(similarly Romania et al)…invites a political termite invasion by the treacherous Poles.
Kindly remember the Poles are now 50% jewish…and have themselves to blame.
The russians should establish a 30 km DMZ zone and behind that a strong military presence easily capable of striking Ramstein in ten minutes.
Any resistance in the new territory should be collected and exported to Poland/Madagascar…who cares…as long as physical presence is terminated.
Families of the resistance should be invited to leave.
If the above sounds harsh….I invite others to improve the idea without resorting to harm.
It would be easy to fill prisons/re-education camps etc….
Bin there done that…physical removal is the only method and a one time cost.
Anyone returning through “rat-lines” after removal…gets terminated.
