Russia has recently told the Israeli regime that enough is enough in Syria. Keep in mind that Israel has relentlessly attacked the Syrian government with lethal weapons. Their excuse?
Well, they are defending themselves; they are curbing Iran in the region; and they are fighting bad guys. As Kenneth Jacobson of Time of Israel has preposterously declared, we should all “fight terrorism [in Syria], block Iran, [and] protect Israel.”[1]
But it seems that Russia itself has been tired of Israel’s perpetual lies in the region. Russian Foreign Minister Maria Zakharova declared unequivocally that “the practice of arbitrary strikes on the territory of a sovereign state—in this case, Syria—must end.”[2] Newsweek reported:
“In the latest development, a series of Israeli airstrikes targeted alleged Iranian targets in southern Syria, after Israeli forces reportedly intercepted a surface-to-surface missile in the occupied Golan Heights region. The Russian Defense Ministry reported that only Syrian troops were killed, while pro-Syrian opposition media claimed that nearly a dozen casualties were from Iran, which—along with Russia—was a foreign ally of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.”[3]
Obviously Russia is seeing that Israel is not going to abide by international law at all. Zakharova continued:
“In our opinion, forging an atmosphere of hostility in the region is not in the long-term national interests of any of the Middle Eastern states, including, of course, Israel. We must not allow Syria, which has suffered over the long years of armed conflict, to become an arena for settling geopolitical accounts. We urge everyone to think about the possible consequences of provoking a new round of chaos in the Middle East.”[4]
Even Newsweek, of all places, had this to say: “Israel typically strove to maintain a degree of plausible deniability, but has become increasingly public about its campaign in Syria, where outgoing Israeli military commander Gadi Eisenkot revealed last week his forces had conducted ‘thousands of attacks without taking responsibility and without asking for credit.’ Also last week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed ‘hundreds’ of Israeli strikes in Syria, including airstrikes against an alleged Iranian weapons storage facility near the Damascus International Airport just days prior.”[5]
Russia must start challenging the Israeli regime in a way that is practical, moral, and international. If Israel wants to attack Syria, Russia should say, then it must be willing to pay the consequences, which may even include military actions. It’s just that simple. If Russia is not willing to send the regime a “friendly” ultimatum, then it will continue to ignore international law and bomb areas in Syria.
Russia must come to the realization that the regime in Israel does not want to abide by universal principles at all. The regime wants to destroy Syria by any means. Unless Russia stands up and flesh out a policy that will curb the Israeli regime, then nothing will change in the next few months or years. Russia must also realize that repeated strikes in Syria is not even good for Israel. As US Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats himself has stated:
“We assess that Iran seeks to avoid a major armed conflict with Israel. However, Israeli strikes that result in Iranian casualties increase the likelihood of Iranian conventional retaliation against Israel.”[6]

Observe the Deafening silence of Trump and the Four Star Generals on these unprovoked illegal attacks on Syria by Israel. What if they were attacking the U.S.? It is obvious they seek to provoke a wider conflict like a world war for their selfish benefit. But what if finally they received what they deserve, to be obliterated from the map? Russia, Syria and Iran have every reason to serve them up the massive destruction they so rightly have asked for.
Russia has give Syria S-300 defense systems so that Syria can protect itself from Israeli aggression, but the Israelis just destroy them WTF?
Something has got to break in this cycle of madness and mayhem.
It should be obvious to the whole world that Israel wants to kill every Syrian in order to steal Syrian land and natural resources.

Why does Netanyahu get “away” with it over and over, year after year?
Is the entire world helpless against Israel? Is it because Israel has 300+ nuclear weapons?

If the Russian government is serious (a dubious proposition), they can start by “Dolphin hunting” and providing “snake eater” assistance to allied countries (assuming that they have already cleared Russia of Israeli ADMs. Both would make the world a more secure place and deter Israeli aggression, while NOT providing Trump & Company of a casus belli for starting a war with Russia.
