Guardian: Following a week of escalating tensions over threats of violence made against Michigan’s Democratic politicians and an ongoing, emotional debate over Gretchen Whitmer’s stay-at-home order, dozens of conservative protesters descended on the state capitol on Thursday morning.
Some arrived armed with assault rifles while others held up signs portraying the governor with a Hitler moustache and one speaker taunted police and called for Whitmer to be pulled outside and arrested for breaking the law with her emergency orders.
The state senate and house also cancelled their Thursday morning sessions.
Adam de Angeli, an organizer with (Nazi) supremacist-linked Michigan United For Liberty, told the crowd: “We are not going to be intimidated and we are not going to be silent,” he said. “This is the biggest infringement on our rights in our history. This is devastating to our country and economy.”
Many of the demonstrators also questioned the constitutionality of the governor’s orders.

Protests are evidence of powerlessness.
Why don’t these folks simply live free by not following all these lies & burdens imposed by our glorious bullycrats?
Masses? A few dozen assholes aren’t masses. Think “elected official” not “Democratic Governor.” Oh, elected by a majority of voters, that kind of election, a big majority of voters.
To John and Gordon, And I thought Baltimore was wack! Shouldn’t these idiots be fishing by now. Just saying.
I get those out protesting who don’t have any money. Now juxtaposition that with the goddamned Wall St. banks and corporations who already got their bailout, and will own everything when this is over. The top 1% own 85% of the equity markets. There’s 36 million Americans unemployed because of this, but the NASDAQ is up 30%. WTF? But you guys keep talking about those crazy protestors with their hidden agenda to destroy America. This place is getting like Breitbart…an echo chamber!
If the protesters spread covid 19 and if it can be proven that people died as a direct result, are they ok with being sued for monetary damages by the surviving families? Can they be sued for damages? Freedom does not extend to harming others. Should they be required to post a bond or get insurance before leaving their homes without proper social distancing measures? Would their big money backers provide that assistance – the damages could be financially catastrophic for individual protesters.
As an aside, they are getting far too much publicity.
