Our sources, who know the same retired officials, say India, with help from Israeli scientists who had previously run the Soviet Union’s nuclear weapons program, are building several cobalt bombs to “sterilize” Pakistan of all human life for a century.
The US also believes Russia has chosen this same path, based on the rationale Kubric expounded in Strangelove. For India, blind insanity has been driving India for some time, with Russian need for weapons exports, leasing nuclear submarines and other destabilizing platforms.

Currently, the US believes Russia is also building cobalt bombs for its nuclear powered cruise missile and undersea drone “doomsday weapons.”
Russia Today: Amid rising tensions, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi says he has called Pakistan’s nuclear bluff by launching airstrikes while also claiming that New Delhi has the “mother of nuclear bombs.”
“Earlier, terrorists from Pakistan would come here and go back after conducting an attack. Pakistan would threaten us, saying it has the nuclear bomb and will press the button,” Prime Minister Modi said at a campaign rally at Surendranagar in Gujarat on Wednesday.

“When a thermonuclear weapon is surrounded with with ordinary cobalt (cobalt-59) metal,” as Russia’s Status 6 is rumored to be, “the fast neutrons escaping the explosion will instantly transmute it into radioactive cobalt-60, which would vaporize, condense, and then fall back to earth tens, hundreds, or thousands of miles from the site of the explosion.”

A cobalt bomb detonated in Washington DC could contaminate Canadian or Mexican soil. Schwartz estimates the cobalt would take 53 years to return to non-dangerous levels, and that other radioactive elements could persist for much longer.
“Any contaminated areas would be rendered essentially uninhabitable for that amount of time and people in shelters would not be safe if they returned to the surface for any period of time,” Schwartz said. “If detonated in a populated area, decontamination costs would be astronomical.”
The bombastic rhetoric comes amid ongoing tensions and tit-for-tat airstrikes in recent weeks, which have been marred by sporadic cross-border firefights and violence in the aftermath of a suicide bomb attack in Pulwama in February which killed 40 Indian paramilitary officers.
Jaish-e-Mohammad claimed responsibility for the bombing and India subsequently accused the Pakistani government of turning a blind eye to the group’s activities.
“Pakistan has been threatening us for a long time with its nuclear capability but the IAF called its bluff with its strikes,” Modi said. His comments came following governmental denials that an Indian military attack in Pakistan was imminent, and may be carried out in mid-April.
