The first European cases of Coronavirus are confirmed in France. How prepared would we be to deal with a global pandemic?

Cases of Coronavirus have now been confirmed in Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, the US, and France after the virus began in China. In a globalized world, how might such an outbreak be contained? We’ve had similar scares before, with SARS in 2003, bird flu in 2006, swine flu in 2009, and even Ebola and Zika.

What are the plans in place to act against a major threat? The World Health Organisation has said it’s too early to term the outbreak of coronavirus an international public health emergency. It also doesn’t fulfill the criteria for a pandemic, which is a spread worldwide of a new disease.

Ben Chu reports, and Katie speaks to Tom Inglesby, Director of the Center for Health Security of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and Sarah Gilbert, Professor of Vaccinology at Oxford University.

  1. So you get 5000 reads and a lively comment section on a Kobe is dead post and less than 800, and a few very interesting comments on this? Can anyone sincerely tell me we all don’t get what we got coming in the end?

  2. So, here we go again. A virus is released from one of the Lugar Bip-weapons labs, and the Banksters rub their hands with almost orgiastic glee, as their pharma portfolio’s ooze the toxic aluminium laden vaccines that they wish “To Save the World with”. We’ve seen it all before with Swine flu, Bird flu, etc. Does anyone remember the shoot-down of an airplane in the process of an aerosol releasing bio-agent over the Hungary-Ukrainian border ????????? How many people eventually died, whilst the authorities put the region on lock-down. Mean while the investigation as to the source of the virulent material found in the crashed air-tanker, beat a path back to the owners of Baxter International, whose Jewish owners had fled to Israel as the Police were about to come knocking. Wow, quel supris !
Perhaps the Chinese released it themselves this time, as a precursor for a small cull ??????? Hey, nothing is out of the realms of possibility. As soon as the documentary started to focus on a possible vaccination program, and the lack of available vaccines…………….how many out there were speed dialing their brokers to put options on big Pharma.
Nothing happens by chance, and this is another well planned financial raid by the usual subjects. Tell me that I’m wrong.

  3. From what I understand through a second hand account from doctors on the ground treating victims of the coronavirus the numbers are being under-reported and the situation is getting out of control Over fourteen cities have been literally quarantined – containing the same population as California. Doctors are facing the epidemic lacking basic necessities like masks and one doctor is among the early casualties. The Chinese are in the processing of building a separate hospital to cater to coronavirus victims in one city and expect to have it up in a matter of days! Yes, days. Basic sanitation at crowded hospitals is suspect while overwhelmed hospital staff are working literally round the clock to cope. A story came out today of how 14 people were cured! Yet, reports are also emerging that people with symptoms are being treated and sent home – in all likelihood, to further spread the disease. The video I watched on wet-markets where – without any refrigeration whatsoever, every imaginable vegetable and meat item is sold, beggars description. The situation in China seems frightening while Western medical standards should cope far better with the challenges ahead. When basic necessities are so lacking to contain the contagion – and hospital staff on the front line and wilting, the prognosis is dire. Watch how local government officials take the brunt of the repercussions.

  4. Gordon,

I cannot believe that people, even you, have a crackerjack memory. This is being pulled by the CIA/CDC/US medical-industrial complex along with the Chinese government to exert more control over the masses. The Chinese government has locked down Wuhan, a city of more than 10 million people.
Obviously the Chinese government wants to install tighter controls. It doesn’t lead to the conclusion that a coronavirus is making people sick or killing them. This is not an epidemic much less an endemic.

During the so-called Zika Virus crisis of 2016, women in several countries were told not to get pregnant, because the virus might cause brain damage in their babies. That was a form of lockdown, too. If it were instituted for good reason, we would now be seeing massive numbers of babies all over the world born with microcephaly (smaller heads and brain damage), as the virus spreads. We aren’t seeing that. I covered the Zika story extensively, and proved it was a scientific fraud. A dud.
