Militants in Syria’s Idlib not complying with ceasefire: Russian Foreign Ministry

by Jim W. Dean, VT Editor, …with PressTV, Tehran

[ Editor’s Note: The Idlib ceasefire is in ‘no man’s land’ with the current stand off. The Jihadis are mining the M4 highway and certainly will have IEDs in place, to directly confront Russia and Turkey.

We watch to see what Turkey does. It has already tried to isolate the problem by blaming it on extremist factions only. Yet, it may have set a trap for itself. If that is the case, then the rational response would be a coalition of Russian, Syrian and Turkish forces to intervene and take the offending groups out of the picture.

As for the road blocking civilians, if they are not jihadis out of uniform, let them fend getting supplies themselves when Turkey cuts them off. If Turkey does nothing, then it will look more and more like it is in cahoots with the Jihadis on preventing the Syrian use of the highway.

Erdogan will be staring Putin down, daring the Russians to support a new Syrian advance. Unless the Syrian coalition has a fix for taking the Turkish combat drones down, that could just increase the SAA losses for little to no gain, which is what Erdogan and the jihadis would want.

But the COVID virus is inside Turkey, with a reported 47 cases, but no new ones showing up, a clear sign it is not reporting new cases. The virus could undermine Erdogan’s Grand New Sultan plans, just like it is derailing everybody else’s plans, each waiting for the hammer to fall, but with Turkey already brokeJim W. Dean ]

Idlib jihadi locals pile onto Turkish patrol vehicles, forcing them to retreat

– First published … March 17, 2020

The Russian Foreign Ministry says foreign-sponsored Takfiri militants are not complying with the terms of a ceasefire reached earlier this month by Ankara and Moscow to halt an escalation of violence in Syria’s embattled northwestern province of Idlib.

My input starts about half way through.

  1. I suspect that this is a Mossad/CIA play. Covertly backing the terrorist in an effort to destroy the tenuous alliance between Turkey and Moscow.

  2. Never any point in negotiating with the degenerate jihadis. They want to go to heaven so I’m sure Russia will send them on their way.

The fix is to stop fighting with one hand tied behind the back and take out the bases in Turkey that the drones are launches and controlled from.
