Pfizer and Moderna  Say ‘Leave Us Out of This Public Relations Stunt’

Health Editor’s note: Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna are not taking part in Trump’s political stunt show today.  Trump continues to try to claim credit for COVID-19 vaccine making efforts. This ‘vaccine summit’ could also be viewed as a pressure move to force the FDA to hurry to make its decision about the emergency use authorization for these vaccines. The FDA is set to publicly examine data from Pfizer/BioNTech in two days and to examine Moderna’s vaccine date on December 17.

The FDA official in charge of the agency’s division for overseeing vaccine approvals, Peter Marks , was rumored to be attending the ‘vaccine show.’  If drug manufacturers also attended the ‘Trump’ vaccine public relations stunt, would this not scream conflict of interest? Whether Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna chose to not attend, or were simply dis-invited to the ‘Trump Show’,….. good move on their part….Carol
