  1. The “erratic” part of the description of him is interesting. It suggests that there may be something medically wrong with the guy. My guesses: It could be as simple yet as deadly as diabetes or substance abuse. Or the guy could have a brain injury. 54 LE encounters since January of this year. That suggests that whatever event happened to make him erratic, it may have happened very recently and may be fixable.

    • Humanity has the opportunity to claim sentience, if “fixable” does not involve caging.
Until then, we are ruthless animals with no awareness of our own self.
“Fixing” things, is displayed by numbers of people dedicated to the task, and actions by the broader community to provide for it. Talk, is not considered.

  2. Deescalating the mass incarceration mindset and the “comply or die” policies, is going to be messy because we all know which people will benefit first.
Defunding , is not going to be enough in some places. One thing we need, is good people running for sheriff. This will also be messy, as the best candidates will likely have little to no experience in law enforcement.
Letting this guy go, and announcing it, is likely a political stunt to get people to scream for stricter policing.
