GOP-McConnell Backing Impeachment, the ‘Trump Stink’ too Much

Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is happy that the Democrats are moving to impeach President Trump, believing it will make it easier to “purge” his influence from the Republican Party, The New York Times reports, citing sources close to him.

The House is set to vote on Wednesday to formally charge Trump with incitement of violence against the country, in connection with the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol.

If successful, the vote would make Trump the first president in U.S. history to be impeached twice. McConnell—along with every other Republican senator, with the exception of Mitt Romney—voted to acquit Trump on his first impeachment.

  1. I guess that was a message to McConnell when hours ago in during a visit at the border wall, in Alamo, Texas, Trump he said, turning to the issue lawmakers consider forcing him from office.. “Be careful what you wish for”

    • Nobody of them in that place cares the ” humiliation”, the impeachment game is about ban it so he can’t candidate in 2024 because that’s outcome they are chasing if he is declared guilty

    • Adrian where do you point at when you say in that place ? It’s rather odd that the entire GOP is now considered shameless with zero humility. The so called evangelical church knew he was a rapist before election him, and most of the republicans knew he was crazy but like so many of them they changed their tunes and shamelessly backed him up. The Supreme Court nomination a few days into the elections lowered the bar to the bottom of the barrel and now they’re jumping ship to avoid their own humiliations.
      And next time there will be a republican who will go even lower than him.

    • Newt, “that place” on this particular occasion is about the Capitol and all members inside, but in a way more wide all political class always was shameless with zero humility
