New York AG Leticia James Subpoenas Donald, Don Jr. & Ivanka Trump
from Glenn Kirshner, …for Justice Matters
Editor’s Note: The major feature to this story is that in civil cases taking the 5th can be used by the jury to infer guilt, where as the judge instructs a criminal case jury that it cannot a judge cannot.
Overall we are reminded once again how our court system seems to have been rigged as a gold mine for attorneys with the endless appeals that can be gone through if someone has the pocketbook to pay the freight.
The remaining two kids will probably plead the 5th, as that seems to be the family legal plan, and then if they loose, they will pour money into appeals cases while claiming their convictions were politically motivated.

The Trump property over valuations were so overboard one wonders how the respective tax authorities did not get the case going sooner. Could someone in the judicial system have been compromised?
The Trump family will continue to be the gift that keeps on giving, with their thumbing their noses on the concept that the rules for the rest of us don’t apply to them.
But I did hear Congressman Raskin of the Jan 6 committee say a few days something I had not heard anyone on the Hill mention, that Trump was “a one man crime wave”. It was finally a treat to hear someone official say that besides us at VT 🙂 …Jim W. Dean ]

We just learned from New York State Court filings that NY Attorney General is seeking the testimony of former President Donald Trump, as well as Don Jr. and Ivanka in connection with AG James’ civil fraud investigation into the Trump Organization.
In that same filing, we learned that when Eric Trump testified in the same investigation he invoked his 5th Amendment right against self-incrimination more than 500 times. Of course, it’s Eric father who famously said only mobsters plead the 5th.
But setting aside the comedic value of the new revelation, here are the legal consequences of pleading the 5th Amendment in a civil investigation.

NY is a pay to play state. Of course everyone knew, but Trump was considered not worth it.
Lots of people did it. It is still a pay to play state, with a hierarchy obedient to Catholicism.
I think the diocese office in NYC is 11,000 per month, I wonder what they do in such a place ?
Olean got 10 mill to fix up the main street because the people are so poor it made the college look bad. When the diocese in rochester went broke for payouts to sex abuse, the state quickly gave them a multi-million dollar contract to handle covid funds for rental property owners. A very bizarre recipient for such a contract. It goes on and on….the gangs of NY.
