Health Editor’s Note: Based on all scientific evidence that is available the FDA advisory committee voted to recommend Pfizer/BioNTech mRNA COVID-19 vaccine candidate for use in people age 16 and older in an emergency use authorization capacity.
The efficacy for this vaccine is 95% seven days after the second vaccine dose. Reactions to the vaccine are injection site reactions, fatigue, and headache with were more common in people younger than 55. The vaccine should not be administered to anyone who has had a severe allergic reaction to components of this vaccine.

Carol, don’t misunderstand me, I’m not anti-vaccines however neither I’m going to take a hasty decision because there is a mass hysteria. That’s why I said, I’d rather wait first a bit until see what happens. They don’t count on me as a free volunteer to doing of guinea pig.
Adrian, I believe and all the science and medicine points to this being an ok vaccine to take. Do not let the hurry up aspect fool you into thinking it is not going to work or is going to harm. The trials had way more then enough people and specifically chose those of the ethnicity and genetics that are being hit hardest. If one contracts COVID-19 there is no guarantee that you will not get a severe case. Going severe usually means you die.

Cindy Myer, While it looks like Australia has beaten this thing, think again. All it takes is for one person to slip through the cracks and start it up again. I do applaud Australia’s handling of this pandemic. Wish we had done the same here in the U.S.
It seems in three short days since Britain launched its vaccine roll out that those with severe allergies should not take it on advice. As there are 50 millions Americans with allergies where is the line drawn between those who should take it and those who should not. Or does it matter. US-First, The severe reactions to the vaccine have been minimal. These reactions were in people who have had past anaphylactic issues. Not sure why you would recommend an antiparasitic drug for a viral infection.Virus/parasite are not the same thing. Ivermectin is not used for viral infections. If you fear the vaccine do not take it.

We would have far fewer deaths if we had had the vaccine much sooner as well as addressing the pandemic in a responsible, scientific manner. The leadership vacuum along with the craziness tied to the election caused most of our deaths. If those who wanted to really protect themselves could have had the vaccine, we would not be looking at 3,000 dead per day. Not acceptable!
Mike, The vaccine is the ONLY way to get out of this pandemic because of the leadership vacuum we have experienced under Trump. Yes, I will take the vaccine as soon as I qualify to get it.
