DB: Millions of Austrians who have decided not to take a coronavirus vaccine are going to be locked down to help squash a spike in case numbers. The province of Upper Austria—which has the lowest vaccine take-up and the highest infection rate of the nation’s nine provinces—has reportedly announced a lockdown for the unvaccinated from Monday next week.

In his announcement, Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg said: “I don’t see why two-thirds should lose their freedom because one-third is dithering… A lockdown for the unvaccinated means one cannot leave one’s home unless one is going to work, shopping [for essentials], stretching one’s legs…

  1. Once again, everyone is dancing around the simple reality that COVID-19 is a US bioweapon. It’s SUPPOSED to do what it has done in the USA. And if it stops doing that, it’s back to the lab in North Carolina to come up with a new-and-improved version.

    What everyone should also remember is, Trump “ordered federal health officials to treat top-level coronavirus meetings as classified, an unusual step that has restricted information and hampered the U.S. government’s response to the contagion, according to four Trump administration officials.” (Reuters).

  2. What is unprecedented, is a fully mechanized global population of 8 billion people flying and driving all over the place at all times. I’m willing to bet, 99 out of a hundred people do not know where the tomatoes in their store come from.
    Up to 200 million died in the Black Death, over 7 years, and without modern medicine, the only defense was locking down the towns. You can be sure anyone sneaking into town, faced immediate consequences. Small Pox killed 800 million in Europe. Inoculations for small pox began in China in the 1500’s. Nothing we see today, is unprecedented including vaccines or lockdowns. Simple decisions are made complicated by idiots. 5 million and counting deaths from Covid. It isn’t going away by itself, and Jesus isn’t coming before you have to get vaxxed.

  3. The Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights (2005) says the refusniks are exercising a basic human right, to decide what medications they will submit to. That VT refuses to acknowledge that right is what is bewildering here. Finally, if the vaccines were ‘safe and effective’, then the people who submit to them ought to have no concern about anyone who refuses to submit. Period. Any suggestion that only the unvaccinated are getting sick, is patently false, and a lie from hell.

    • There’s always a reason/cause for every action. What’s bewildering is trying to decipher it completely. Connect the dots.

    • Nobody is forcing anyone to take the vax. They are simply, laying out the boundaries for those who don’t.
      If you walk around killing people with a gun, your rights evaporate in any human society.
      Immediately.
      You do not have to take the vax if you do not want to. Why all the whining ? Really, it sounds like a classroom of 9 year olds when told they have a pop quiz.
