    Was Jesus born on the 25th of December? Probably not the Bible story suggests the Spring. However we traditionally celebrate Christ Mass in December and have for at least 1500 years. Tradition should mean something.

    • It’s Christians who made their feast and celebration days on Pagan holidays not the other way around.

      Protestants love the cross symbol but early Christians saw it as an implement of Christ’s torture and would never have used it to represent him.

      The Cross itself is an ancient pagan sun wheel.

    In the US, the birth of christ was not celebrated on the winter solstice until Latino people started doing it at Catholic missions. The solstice, has been celebrated as long as human history to the oldest documents, which is the I-Ching. In that system, it is the Hexagram “Kwan”. It perfectly describes, the metal carriage, bringing a tree into the enclosure (the actual meaning of the glyph) , red knee covers, sincerity of gift giving being separate from divine offerings (insinuating person to person gifting), and the time of the “well” which is the sharing of the wealth of the village. This is why Catholics made Jan 1 the start of the new year. It was a financial decision to accumulate, and a hostile decision to overlay onto the gifting holiday. It is against our national security interests to allow foreign religions to dictate our calendar.

      The church in Rome began celebrating Christmas on December 25 in the early 4th century during the reign of Constantine. Although the date of Christ’s birth is not given to us in Scripture, there is documented evidence that December 25 was already of some significance to Christians prior to A.D. 354. In the writings of Hyppolytus of Rome (c. A.D. 204) we read:

      “For the first advent of our Lord in the flesh, when he was born in Bethlehem, was December 25th, Wednesday, while Augustus was in his forty-second year, but from Adam, five thousand and five hundred years. He suffered in the thirty-third year, March 25th, Friday, the eighteenth year of Tiberius Caesar, while Rufus and Roubellion were Consuls.”
